Nice Carnival 2025: A Magical Dive Under the Oceans


The Nice Carnival 2025, taking place from February 12 to March 2, promises to be an exceptional edition with the theme « King of the Oceans ». This year’s event will immerse visitors in a magical underwater world, celebrating the beauty and richness of marine life.


A centuries-old tradition

The Nice Carnival is one of the oldest and most prestigious carnivals in the world. Its origins date back to the 13th century, when it was a simple popular festivity marking the beginning of Lent. In 1873, Andriot Saëtone, a passionate Niçois, structured the event by creating the first official carnival committee, introducing the now-famous floats and organized parades. Since then, the carnival has become a must-see event, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the world each year.


A rich and spectacular program

The festivities will kick off on Wednesday, February 12, with the Grand Charivari, a free event at the Carnival House starting at 4:00 PM. On Saturday, February 15, the official opening ceremony will take place with « La Carnavalina », a day full of activities, followed by the first Illuminated Carnival Parade at 8:30 PM in Place Massena.

The famous Flower Battles, introduced in 1876, will take place on February 19, 22, 26, and March 1 at 2:30 PM. These elegant parades showcase floats adorned with floral compositions, with costumed participants throwing flowers to the crowd, continuing a unique and poetic tradition.

The Illuminated Carnival Parades, scheduled for February 18, 22, 25, and March 1 at 8:30 PM, will offer dazzling nighttime shows. Floats, illuminated and animated, will parade to the rhythm of street performers and international musical groups, creating a festive and family-friendly atmosphere.

One of the highlights of this edition is the Lou Queernaval on February 28, France’s first LGBTQ+ carnival event, celebrating diversity and inclusion. The festivities will conclude on March 2 with the symbolic burning of the King’s effigy on the Promenade des Anglais, followed by a spectacular fireworks display, marking the end of this unforgettable edition.



Menton Lemon Festival 2025: A Journey Through the Stars


At the same time, the city of Menton will be hosting the 91st edition of the Lemon Festival from February 15 to March 2, 2025, under the theme « Journey(s) Through the Stars ». Since 1934, this unique festival has attracted thousands of visitors eager to admire the gigantic citrus sculptures, colorful parades, and artisanal exhibitions.



These two iconic events offer a festive and cultural immersion in the heart of the French Riviera, promising unforgettable moments for all participants.
